Meet Our Staff

Jennifer Bridgers
Jennifer joined Coastal Animal Hospital in October 1994 and is head receptionist and office manager. She moved to the Outer Banks from Virginia and currently lives in Manteo with many four-legged, feathered companions including pet birds, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a 55lb Sulcata Tortoise. She is our resident wildlife rehabilitator which is her second love. You will often find Jennifer with baby birds and other small critters that need fostering. When Jennifer is not working, you will find her expressing her love of nature and animals through her photography.

Jenny Womack
Raised on the Outer Banks, she began working at Coastal Animal Hospital in April of 2006 and is a veterinary technician. Jenny and her husband Choyia currently live in Kitty Hawk with a 6 year-old lab named Santana, and 2 kitties (Buckwheat & Jack). In her free time, Jenny enjoyes gardening, cooking, and reading.

LeeAnn Leah
Lee Ann has been with Coastal since 2007 as a
veterinary technician. Originally from Philadelphia, she moved to Kitty Hawk in 1999. LeeAnn is known around the hospital for her willingness to help others and her tremendous compassion. Lee Ann has a home filled with rescued animals, including 5 dogs, 4 cats & 2 goats!

Kayla Shertzer
Kayla did her externship with Coastal Animal Hospital in 2008. Graduating from Vet Tech Institute in 2009, she returns to us as our newest veterinary technician. Her dog is with her parents back in Pennsylvania. She loves to hunt, horseback riding, her boyfriend, and playing Guitar Hero. Love, dedication and service are her guidelines for everyone of her patients. We are all better for having her here.

Johnny Reed
Johnny and his family used to vacation here when there was just the beach road. He arrived here in 2001 to help his parents, who have been residents of Kill Devil Hills since 1978. Many remember his late Doberman, Chester, holding the leash in his mouth while walking Johnny. Joining our staff in September 2008 as a week-end kennel attendant, Johnny has moved to full-time and is known for his deep affection, gentle touch, and attention to details for the comfort of all our patients and boarders.

Alli Parr
Alli recently moved to the beach from Edenton, NC after graduating from Canine Clippers School of Pet Grooming in VA. She has always loved animals, and has a monster cat named Milo. After work, you'll find her outside fishing or 4-wheeling.
