... is a progressive, full-service, small, large and exotic animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive state-of-the-art medical, surgical and dental care in a compassionate and supportive environment, serving the Outer Banks of Corolla, Duck, Southern Shores, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Manteo and Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands, as well as southern Currituck and mainland Dare counties.
Our fundamental philosophy is to treat our patients with the same care and compassion we would give our own pets. We foster this environment by taking care of one patient at a time, and by surrounding our patients with a loyal and loving staff who wholeheartedly live by these principles. Coastal is proud of our reputation of catering to the most discerning pet owner. We fully understand your love and devotion to your pet and are committed to providing individual care that exceeds your expectations. All of us at Coastal Animal Hospital strive to create a relaxed, non-hurried environment so that you and your pet gets the attention you deserve.
Coastal Animal Hospital provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We offer conventional and holistic treatment modalities. The facility includes a full laboratory for blood and urine analyses, an in-hospital surgery suite and state-of-the-art ultrasound and digital x-ray capabilities. Coastal offers cutting edge chemotherapy protocols for our cancer patients. We also utilize the surgical skills of Dr. Clark, a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, who performs in house advanced orthopedic procedures, such as cranial cruciate repair and total hip replacements.
Coastal maintains a closely supervised hospitalization area, pharmacy and climate controlled, deluxe, indoor canine and feline boarding kennels with large outdoor exercise areas. Professional bathing and grooming services are offered 4 days a week. As a full service hospital we do offer After Hour Emergency Services. We welcome out of town clients and strive to make them feel as though we are their home away from home-so please feel free to call or stop by if you have any questions at all. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is always willing to help.
For those owners with multiple pets, owners or pets with special needs, or people who just prefer the convenience, Coastal offers Mobile Veterinary & House Call appointments.
Coastal Animal Hospital's deep commitment to all of God's creatures extends beyond mere words and is demonstrated by our non profit, Coastal Canine Hope, which was formed in 2004. This foundation accepts local, unwanted dogs on a case by case basis. Once admitted into the program, Coastal provides any medical and surgical care at no cost and houses them until they can be adopted. To date, over 30 dogs have been placed in loving new homes. This effort is funded by the hospital, doctors and staff as well as any donations from the public.
Coastal Animal Hospital is also known locally for its treatment and rehabilitation of injured wildlife at no cost. We have cared for everything from bald eagles and ospreys to opossums and turtles.
At Coastal Animal Hospital our mission is to offer not only sound medical advice, but also optimal veterinary wellness care, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but to also help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy. We place a strong emphasis on owner education and preventative medicine because we don't just treat animals, we treat families!
