Meet Our Staff

Jennifer.jpgJennifer Bridgers

Jennifer joined Coastal Animal Hospital in October 1994 and is head receptionist and office manager. She moved to the Outer Banks from Virginia and currently lives in Manteo with many four-legged, feathered companions including pet birds, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a 55lb Sulcata Tortoise. As our resident wildlife rehabilitator, which is her second love, you will often find Jennifer with baby birds and other small critters that need fostering. When she's not working, you will find her expressing her love of nature and animals through her photography.

Jenny.jpgJenny Womack

Raised on the Outer Banks, she began working at Coastal Animal Hospital in April of 2006 and is a veterinary technician. Jenny and her husband Choyia currently live in Kill Devil Hills with a 8 year-old lab named Santana, and 2 kitties (Buckwheat & Jack). In her free time, Jenny enjoys gardening, cooking, and reading.

LeeAnn.jpgLeeAnn Leah

Lee Ann has been with Coastal since 2007 as a
veterinary technician. Originally from Philadelphia, she moved to Kitty Hawk in 1999. LeeAnn is known around the hospital for her willingness to help others, and her tremendous compassion. Lee Ann now has a home in Currituck County, filled with rescued animals, including 5 dogs, 4 cats & 2 goats!

Kayla.jpgKayla Shertzer

Kayla did her externship with Coastal Animal Hospital in 2008. Graduating from Vet Tech Institute in 2009, she returns to us as our newest veterinary technician. Her dog and cat reside with her here, and she loves hunting, horseback riding, her boyfriend, and playing Guitar Hero. Love, dedication and service are her guidelines for everyone of her patients. We are all better for having her here.

Johnny.jpgJohnny Reed

Johnny and his family used to vacation here when there was just the beach road. He arrived here in 2001 to help his parents, who have been residents of Kill Devil Hills since 1978. Many remember his late Doberman, Chester, holding the leash in his mouth while walking Johnny. He joined our staff in September 2008 as our week-end kennel attendant, and is known for his deep affection, gentle touch, and attention to details for the comfort of all our patients and boarders.
"Doing the weekends gives me the luxury of being able to spend time loving, petting, and telling each pet how good they are... haven't met one yet that doesn't know the word Love... even the deaf ones know."

Alli.jpgAlli Parr

Alli moved to the beach in 2010 from Edenton, NC after graduating from Canine Clippers School of Pet Grooming in VA. She has always loved animals, and has a little pink poodle named Emma, plus a monster cat named Milo. After work, you'll find her outside fishing or 4-wheeling.

Brandy.jpgBrandy Fox

Brandy is our latest addition, growing up in Currituck when there was only a two-lane highway and many more turns to get to the beach. She moved to the Outer Banks 2-1/2 years ago with her now 8-1/2 year old Yellow Lab named Rocky. Bringing over 15 years experience in family medicine with her to Coastal Animal Hospital, she immediately became an invaluable and delightful
addition to our staff.
